Introductory Workshops

The following workshops offer an introduction to Math Workshop, the Contexts for Learning Mathematics series, and to student development along specific Landscapes of Learning as noted.

Early Number Sense, Addition and Subtraction, Grades K-3 (Two-Day Workshop)

This workshop, designed for early childhood educators, focuses on the development of early number sense, addition and subtraction, and early place value. It includes the math rack progression for automaticity of the basic facts and the open number line progression for mental math.

Multiplication and Division, Grades 2-5 (Two-Day Workshop)

This workshop focuses on the development of multiplication and division with whole numbers through the years, from the early introduction of multiplication through the automaticity of the basic facts, computational fluency with greater amounts, and place value. It also includes work with the ratio table and open array.
